Two charts

Compare two birth charts

Compare planetary contacts and see where each person's planets fall in the other chart's houses. Uncertain times keep their limits visible.

Date of birth

Use the local birth date in the modern (Gregorian) calendar, from 1600 to today.

Time of birth

Local birth time. For 2:30 pm, enter 14:30.

If the end is at or before the start, the range ends the next day. Equal times cover a full day.

We check the whole period. The Ascendant and houses are left out.

We check the whole local day and show any possible sign changes. The Ascendant and houses are left out.

Placidus uses your birth time to calculate unequal houses. Whole Sign gives each sign one house. Both need an exact time.

Read the direction of each contact

A synastry contact connects a factor in the first chart with a factor in the second. Person A's Moon trine Person B's Mercury compares A's emotional responses with B's thinking and communication in astrological interpretation.

Reversing the people asks a different question. A's Mercury and B's Moon occupy their own positions, so they may form another aspect or no listed contact. Read the person labels as part of the result.

Use the orb to understand the geometry

The orb is the distance from an exact aspect angle. A separation of 118° has a 2° orb from a 120° trine. A smaller orb means a closer geometric fit; it does not measure attraction or the likelihood of a relationship working.

Uncertain birth times can produce a range of orbs. A conditional contact fits the selected rule for only part of that period. The result keeps those contacts separate from ones that hold throughout it.
