Big three calculator
Find the signs of your Sun, Moon and Ascendant, also called the rising sign. Enter your birth details, then confirm the birthplace. Choose an approximate or unknown time when your record is incomplete.
Three different parts of a chart
In astrology, the Sun describes purpose and self-expression. The Moon describes emotional needs and familiar responses. The rising sign describes an approach to meeting the world and identifies the sign of the Ascendant, the first Placidus cusp.
These roles explain why three different signs can belong to one person. An Aries Sun, Taurus Moon and Libra rising combine independent direction, a preference for emotional steadiness, and an approach attentive to other people. That is a symbolic example, not a complete reading.
Read each sign through its role first. Then use the houses and aspects to understand how those parts connect. Sun-Moon aspects are one way to study that relationship.
What the birth time changes
For a recorded time, the result gives the Sun, Moon and available Ascendant positions at that instant. It does not establish how accurate the birth record is.
With an approximate time, we check the selected period. With an unknown time, we check the local calendar day. The Sun or Moon may change sign within that period.
When a sign changes, the result lists the possible signs and their calculated periods. A single exact degree is unavailable for an uncertain birth time.
The Ascendant depends on time and place. This calculator leaves it unavailable for approximate or unknown times, and where the angle calculation is unsupported.
Read beyond the big three
The birth chart calculator uses the same form and shows the supported planets, houses and aspects, with unavailable calculations labelled.
