What the website uses

Astriel uses an essential private chart-session cookie when you create or access a library. Birth details and chart results remain on the server; the cookie contains only a random access credential. Search does not save your query history in browser storage. No advertising or audience-measurement cookies are used.

The protected preview uses an access cookie after a successful preview login. This is separate from the calculator and is needed to maintain access to the preview.

Private chart-session cookie

Name: astriel_charts. Purpose: authenticate access to your private chart library. Duration: up to 30 days. Provider: Astriel. It is HttpOnly and SameSite=Lax, with Secure on HTTPS. It contains no email or birth details.

You can sign out or delete the cookie. Verify your email before doing so if you want to recover your charts. If you lose the cookie before verification, request a new sign-in link using the email you supplied. Pending recovery lasts only while the unverified library is retained. If several pending libraries use that address, recovery selects the most recently requested one. An existing verified account takes precedence.

Preview-access cookie

Name: astriel_preview. Purpose: remember successful access to the protected preview. Duration: up to 12 hours. Provider: the Astriel preview access gateway. The cookie does not contain your birth date, chart or marketing choice.

The ngrok tunnel transports preview traffic. Other cookies set independently by a tunnel-provider interstitial or a site you visit are controlled by that provider. We do not describe those as Astriel advertising cookies.

Your controls

You can inspect, block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Deleting or blocking the preview-access cookie can require you to sign in again or prevent preview access. This does not subscribe you to marketing.

No consent banner is shown for non-essential cookies because the application does not currently use them. Before introducing tracking that requires consent, we must provide the relevant information and an appropriate choice. Refusing non-essential tracking must not be treated as acceptance.
