Check the arithmetic

We reduce the month, day and year separately, then add their results. At each stage, 11, 22 and 33 stay unchanged.

Example: 22 October 1980

For 22 October 1980: October becomes 1 + 0 = 1. The day stays 22. The year becomes 1 + 9 + 8 + 0 = 18, then 1 + 8 = 9.

Add the parts: 1 + 22 + 9 = 32. Reduce again: 3 + 2 = 5.

Why calculators can disagree

Preserving a master number changes the arithmetic. For 11 August 1990, Astriel reduces the year to 1 and keeps the day as 11. Adding the parts gives 8 + 11 + 1 = 20, then 2.

Adding every date digit at once gives 8 + 1 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 29, then 11. A calculator that preserves that final 11 reports a different result for the same date.

Compare the method and intermediate steps before interpreting the number. Astriel keeps 11, 22 and 33 at every reduction stage and accepts years 1900 to 2100.

How does this relate to my birth chart?

This calculation uses date digits. A birth chart uses positions calculated for a time and place. They are separate traditions; matching themes do not provide independent evidence about a person.

Name-based Chaldean calculations use a different input and method. This calculator does not calculate a name number.
