Two-chart reference
Venus conjunct Mars in synastry
A Venus-Mars conjunction brings one person's tastes close to the other's way of acting. Astrology reads the contact through affection and desire, with both functions expressed in the same part of the zodiac.

Compare two birth chartsPreference meets initiative
Venus describes what someone appreciates and how they offer affection. Mars describes pursuit, assertion and the way they act on a desire. A conjunction concentrates these themes. An approach can feel relevant to the Venus person's preferences, while differences in pace can become immediate.
These are symbolic interpretations. The contact cannot establish attraction, consent or commitment, and the planetary roles do not describe gender.
A's Venus conjunct B's Mars
Person A is the first person entered in the calculator. This contact compares A's preferences with B's initiative.
Worked example
With A's Venus at 10° Taurus and B's Mars at 12° Taurus, the orb is 2°. A enjoys an unhurried meal; B turns that preference into a plan. The same Taurus emphasis can become stubbornness if either assumes their preferred routine is shared.
A's Mars conjunct B's Venus
With A's Mars at 12° Taurus and B's Venus at 10° Taurus, A supplies the initiative in this example. B supplies the taste or preference. The arithmetic stays the same; the people attached to each function change.
If both directions appear, read them separately. Each contact has its own angle and birth-time certainty.
Read affection beside emotional needs
Venus-Mars concerns appreciation and action. Moon contacts introduce comfort and emotional responses; Mercury contacts concern how the two people exchange ideas.
An easy Venus-Mars contact can coexist with a difficult conversation. Read each person's natal Venus and Mars before interpreting how they respond to the other chart.
Compare relationship chart methodsCheck the degrees and the birth-time range
Orb measures how far the smaller separation falls from the exact 0° angle. Astriel includes this contact at an orb of 6° or less.
The positions above are teaching examples. Sharing signs does not establish an aspect; the degrees decide whether it fits the rule.
When the birth time is uncertain
A conditional contact fits the allowed orb during only part of the possible birth-time range. Another time within that range can put it outside the limit.
A contact can also stay within the limit throughout the available range while its exact orb changes. Neither status measures relationship quality.
Source and method
Symbolic meanings follow the owner-supplied astrology reference, Part VI, Venus interaspects and aspect modes. Examples are original. Orb limits follow Astriel's computed synastry method rather than the reference's suggested orb table.
These contacts belong to two separate birth charts. A composite uses planetary midpoints and answers a different chart question.
