Natal chart reference
Moon sextile Mars
Moon sextile Mars describes an opportunity to connect emotional awareness with action. Noticing discomfort can suggest a practical response, such as making a request or changing an arrangement. The sextile emphasises using that opportunity rather than assuming it happens automatically.

Find the aspects in my chartA practical response can meet a recognised need
The two functions have room to cooperate. A feeling identifies something worth attending to; Mars supplies the effort to respond. The interpretation becomes useful when it names the need and the action separately. Activity without that distinction can solve a different problem from the one someone raised.
Read the signs together
A Moon at 12° Cancer and Mars at 14° Virgo are 62° apart. Cancer associates security with familiar care; Virgo gives action attention to practical details. Hearing that a housemate needs a quieter evening, then agreeing which shared tasks can wait, connects recognition with a specific change.
Offering help is different from deciding what help must look like. This example works through an agreed adjustment. Compared with the conjunction, the sextile allows more separation between the feeling and the response; compared with the trine, it stresses a connection that can be deliberately used.
Check the measured angle
The example uses longitudes 102° and 164°. Their shorter separation is 62°, giving an orb of 2° from the exact 60° angle.
Synthetic positions for teaching, not a recorded birth chart.
Astriel uses the smaller of the two bodies' major-aspect limits: 8° for the Moon and 6° for Mars. A 6° orb is included; a larger orb is excluded. Sign names alone cannot establish the contact.
Compare the natal orb rulesUse the houses to name the subject
With the Moon in the calculated 4th Placidus house and Mars in the 6th, home life connects with everyday tasks. These houses come from their cusp intervals. Cancer and Virgo alone cannot establish the placement.
Other aspects can support or complicate the same topic. A Moon-Mars trine can coexist with a Moon-Saturn square. Neither contact removes the other.

Birth-time uncertainty and motion
A conditional aspect meets the selected limit for only part of the possible birth-time interval. Keep the orb range and status shown in your result.
Applying means the orb is decreasing; separating means it is increasing. Both bodies' calculated motion matters, including Mars's retrograde motion. A still diagram cannot supply that direction.
How uncertain times are handledA natal aspect is different from a Mars transit
This guide compares positions in one birth chart. A Mars transit compares the moving Mars with a saved natal position and needs a chosen date.

Interpretation uses Astriel's owner-supplied astrology reference, Part IV, Moon-Mars and major aspects. We retain its feeling-and-action comparison. Claims about illness, aggression or a person's family history are not established by an aspect.
Numerical examples and everyday scenarios are original. Orb limits follow Astriel's calculation rules. These symbolic interpretations do not establish personality or predict events. Reviewed 21 September 2026.
