Emotional life
Feelings and the inner response to experience. This is symbolic reading language; your actual placement comes from your birth details.
Find your Moon signThe Moon describes needs and familiar responses
Modern natal astrology uses the Moon to discuss emotional responses, familiarity, and the conditions associated with comfort. The subject includes how a person reacts before having time to explain the reaction.
The Sun concerns deliberate identity. The Moon concerns what feels familiar or sustaining. These can agree, but a useful reading also notices when a chosen role does not provide the conditions someone needs privately.
Read the Moon's house for the area of life involved. Aspects add other themes: Saturn introduces limits and responsibility; Venus introduces affection and preference. Neither contact proves an attachment style or reconstructs a childhood.

The house changes the reading
A Taurus Moon introduces continuity and sensory comfort as symbolic themes. In the 3rd house, a reader might discuss familiar conversations and surroundings. In the 9th, the same themes meet questions about belief or wider learning.

Moon's sign and degree
The sign identifies a 30-degree section of the tropical zodiac; the degree locates Moon inside it. A position near the end of a sign still belongs to that sign until it crosses the boundary.
With an uncertain time, inspect the possible signs and their UTC periods. A single label can hide a boundary crossing.

Astriel defaults to Placidus. Find Moon between its calculated starting cusp and the next cusp. The birth time and location determine those boundaries. A sign name alone cannot identify the house.
With an approximate or unknown time, houses remain unavailable. Planetary signs and ranges can still be shown; missing house data is not a missing area of life.

Look for contacts involving Moon in the aspect table. The other factor, angle and allowed orb all matter. An aspect label describes a calculated relationship, not an event that must happen.

Traditional and modern rulership
Moon traditionally rules Cancer. If one of these is your rising sign, Moon is your chart ruler under Astriel's method.
A ruler relationship does not tell you the planet's actual sign, house or strength.
