What this placement means
The 7th house concerns one-to-one partnerships and agreements. The Moon here connects emotional responsiveness with close exchanges: noticing another person's mood, seeking reassurance, or feeling settled through a dependable relationship.
The placement belongs to the person whose chart is being read. It does not describe a partner's feelings or guarantee a certain type of marriage. Compare the 1st house, where lunar responses are read through personal approach; here the exchange between people is the focus.
Saying what you need while leaving room for an answer
An invented example, assuming the Moon is in the 7th Placidus house. These positions are teaching factors, not a calculated birth chart.

Aries gives the Moon a direct, immediate style. The 7th makes a one-to-one agreement the setting, while Venus's sextile adds a route toward mutual enjoyment. Two collaborators choosing a meeting time can state their preferences promptly and still make room for an alternative.
Keep this distinction
The Moon belongs to one person's natal chart. Venus here is another factor in that same chart, not the collaborator's Venus. Learning how two people affect each other requires a separate synastry comparison.
How this fits into your full chart
The 7th house tells you which area of life is involved: one-to-one relationships. Moon brings its themes of emotional needs into that area. Its sign adds how those themes are expressed.
Astriel uses Placidus by default. Each house begins at a calculated boundary, called a cusp, and ends at the next cusp. Use the house number beside the Moon in your chart.
Add your Moon sign
Find the Moon's sign in your chart's positions table and read it alongside this house placement. For instance, a planet in Aries emphasizes taking the first step; in Taurus, it emphasizes keeping a steady course.
Use the sign written beside the planet. A house can include more than one sign, so the sign at its beginning can differ from the planet's sign.
Find your Moon sign guideAspects explain how the planets interact
An aspect is an angle between two chart positions. Read the rows involving the Moon in your chart's aspect table. The other planet adds another need or concern to emotional needs.
A square is usually read as a challenge in combining those needs. A trine suggests that they work together more easily. The orb tells you how far the angle is from exact; a smaller orb means a closer contact.
Learn to read aspects and orbsFollow the ruler of this house
The sign on the house's starting cusp has a ruling planet. Find that sign's traditional ruler, then look for the ruler in your chart. Its house connects the two areas of life.
For example, Leo on the 2nd-house cusp makes the Sun its ruler. If the Sun is in the 10th, a reading connects personal resources with public work.

What if my birth time is uncertain?
Astriel leaves houses unavailable for approximate or unknown times. A familiar description cannot resolve that uncertainty.
You can still read the Moon sign information supported by your entered birth period. Do not choose a house because its description sounds right.
Calculate the available Moon sign informationWhy does another site show a different house?
Compare the entered birth details, time zone, zodiac and house system. Astriel uses Placidus by default. Its calculated cusps determine the house containing Moon. A different house system can assign that position to another house.
Verify those settings before comparing interpretations. In Placidus, the Midheaven is the 10th cusp; a planet in that house is not automatically conjunct it.
Read the calculation methods and limitsIs this a natal placement or a current transit?
This guide concerns the Moon in your birth chart. A current Moon transit and another person's Moon overlaid on your chart are different calculations.
Their house number alone does not make these readings interchangeable.

The brief traditional topic vocabulary refers to Astrology.com's Moon in the 7th house reference. The explanations also use Astriel's editorial astrology reference, Part III: Houses. The worked scenarios are examples.
We use the natal house topics without adopting predictions, diagnoses or claims of supernatural abilities. House and sign identities remain separate under Astriel's published method.
