What this placement means
The 11th concerns support beyond home and direct partnership. Pluto adds questions about who defines the shared aim and how disagreement is handled. The tension is between commitment to a cause and making belonging conditional on agreement. The placement cannot establish a friend's motives or a group's hidden intentions.
A worked example
Influence within a wider circle: a chart comparison
A long-running community group debates whether new members should help choose its priorities. Pluto in the 11th connects commitment to the group's purpose with questions about who has influence. The disagreement can concern both the shared aim and the process for changing it. A negotiation between two particular partners would instead emphasize the 7th house.
How this fits into your full chart
The 11th house tells you which area of life is involved: groups and aspirations. Pluto brings its themes of power and control into that area. Its sign adds how those themes are expressed.
Astriel uses Placidus by default. Each house begins at a calculated boundary, called a cusp, and ends at the next cusp. Use the house number beside Pluto in your chart.
Add your Pluto sign
Find Pluto's sign in your chart's positions table and read it alongside this house placement. For instance, a planet in Aries emphasizes taking the first step; in Taurus, it emphasizes keeping a steady course.
Use the sign written beside the planet. A house can include more than one sign, so the sign at its beginning can differ from the planet's sign.

An aspect is an angle between two chart positions. Read the rows involving Pluto in your chart's aspect table. The other planet adds another need or concern to power and control.
A square is usually read as a challenge in combining those needs. A trine suggests that they work together more easily. The orb tells you how far the angle is from exact; a smaller orb means a closer contact.

The sign on the house's starting cusp has a ruling planet. Find that sign's traditional ruler, then look for the ruler in your chart. Its house connects the two areas of life.
For example, Leo on the 2nd-house cusp makes the Sun its ruler. If the Sun is in the 10th, a reading connects personal resources with public work.

What if my birth time is uncertain?
Astriel leaves houses unavailable for approximate or unknown times. A familiar description cannot resolve that uncertainty.
You can still read Pluto sign information supported by your entered birth period. Do not choose a house because its description sounds right.
Calculate the available Pluto positionWhy does another site show a different house?
Compare the entered birth details, time zone, zodiac and house system. Astriel uses Placidus by default. Its calculated cusps determine the house containing Pluto. A different house system can assign that position to another house.
Verify those settings before comparing interpretations. In Placidus, the Midheaven is the 10th cusp; a planet in that house is not automatically conjunct it.
Read the calculation methods and limitsDoes this placement predict a crisis?
A natal Pluto house does not predict a crisis or establish that harm will occur. Its symbolic topic can be considered without expecting an event.
A transit is a separate calculation. Even a calculated transit does not establish what will happen in your life.

This guide concerns Pluto in your birth chart. A current Pluto transit and another person's Pluto overlaid on your chart are different calculations.
Their house number alone does not make these readings interchangeable.
