Chesed: kindness
Chesed concerns kindness and giving. Reading it beside Gevurah brings the question of limits into the same situation.

Giving room for growth
Giving more is not always the same as meeting a need. The relationship with Gevurah helps distinguish willingness to help from the terms that make help sustainable.
Read alongside Gevurah: strength.
Original teaching analogy
An everyday example
A teacher gives a learner extra practice and time to ask questions. This is an original example of the giving associated with Chesed. Setting a clear end time introduces the Gevurah theme. Both parts affect whether the arrangement works for the people involved.
The Jupiter correspondence
Jupiter is the listed planetary correspondence. Calling both Jupiter and Chesed generous repeats a symbolic association; it does not provide two independent findings about someone.
This association comes from Mathers's 1887 table, introduction section 53.

The sefirot belong to Jewish Kabbalah. Chabad's account of the ten sefirot explains the names and counting variants; its Sefirot chapter explains the religious context. The planetary association used here is a later Hermetic layer.
The everyday example is an Astriel analogy, not a traditional quotation. Reviewed 20 September 2026.
